Ends and Beginnings

I've had a bit of a blogging break over the holidays, from the end of 2012 to almost the beginning of February 2013, but here's a few photo collages so you know I haven't been idle :).

 Top left to bottom right: One of the hens decided to take time out from laying eggs to raise a family; DD13 and Whisky bringing home a Christmas tree; Dog on the tuckerbox - Gundagai; seems to be a lot of ways to go to Junee :) ; Only in Oz could you post your letters AND grab a beer at the same time!; Our old house in Junee being restored by the current owners.

Working weekend

So much for trying to do a post a week. I've been suffering from a virus and my hayfever hasn't helped the recovery.

Much of the weekend was spent off the ground for the rest of the family.
DH and nephew were putting up struts for the roof over the roundyard. Nephew is the one wearing the hat! Lol, tractors can be so versatile :).

As Dad was building the apprentice horsebreaker had to lead out the unbroken horse. Most of the muscle is supplied by her 4 legged partner. She's the brains of the duo!

                        

                       

Even the insects were busy....bzzzzzzzz

These 2 loafers were spectating, and practicing being house cows, and decided to camp under the guava tree IN the house yard! Naughty babies!!

I'm Very Distracted .....photo may be distressing!

Life likes to give you a kick in the teeth now and then but when it's one of your kids it's harder to handle.
After 10 days my son has had a bandage and splint taken off his hand after an accident at work. He's an apprentice glazier and 22 years old. Surgery didn't help as the bones were also crushed so the wounds were cleaned and tidied up and after a couple of days at the Royal North Shore Hospital he could go home.
He posted this photo on his facebook wall tonight and all the shock and sadness enveloped me again. 

I'm not posting this for sympathy because as my son said "S**t happens" but at the moment blogging regularly is something I'll do when I can deal with this as well as he is dealing with it.

Done and displayed

Well it's been 3 weeks since I last posted and the time in the middle of that was spent visiting forum friends and revisiting places I've lived and finishing with UniDD's graduation. 
UniDD was delighted with the trial run, which was fortunate, as I had to do more unsewing and adjusting before she could wear it. Satin would not have stood up to all the handling/unpicking and as she said, the flowers on the trial one were the right red for the Uni gown but the red satin she'd chosen would have clashed. Whew!

I had to put this in as it's a temporary addition to the family until UniDD has new accommodation.

On my mind.......

On my mind lately has been the fact that my youngest is about to begin her first year of high school. Apart from the paraphernalia needed above, there are books, uniforms, waking her up earlier as she has to catch the bus at 7.30am for the 40km trip to school each day and the 'dramas' that go with all the adjusting to the new system and pre-teen female hormones. Oh joy *resigned face*.

I think I'll scrapbook this so we can laugh/cry/rejoice at the journey in later years. That makes this the first photo for the collection.
