See the ice in the top right corner of the container?
I have been sprouting wheat in large flat trays to give to the hens and I keep it on the bench in the laundry. The laundry is outside and is usually fairly warm, due to the insulation in the roof/walls, in Winter. I was stunned to discover this, especially as it was 10am, when I found it!
Strangely enough it was a lovely warm day and I could garden in just a t-shirt and jeans.
Cheers,
Robyn Louise XO
-5C? That's cold! Hope you stay warm, Robyn.
ReplyDeleteIt's 29C here right now, and way too hot for me. :(
Lol Nil, guess I'd need to visit you then as Summer here reached 45C at it's peak! At least when it's cold one can exercise to warm up :).
DeleteSaturday morning here in Melbourne was very cold too. Not quite -5 though. It was 0 when I walked Samson and tended to the chickens. Samson's water bowl had also iced over. Like you the afternoon was much better with the sun shining.

It's raining today and with the rise in the temperature, because of the cloud cover, and the moisture for the garden I'm happy.
DeleteI could use a bit of cooler weather right now. -5C is cold, but looks like it warmed up for you. Being a city girl, I have never seen sprouting wheat before, thanks for sharing the photos :)

Bleeding hang that was chilly. The coldest in my memory is -2C and the water froze in the pipes. Not really looking forward moving back to SE Qld.
ReplyDeleteColdest it's been so far. The water in the garden hose was frozen until about 10.30am.
